I’m delighted to introduce our brand new set of articles, “Hair & Beauty Tips from the Pro for your Perfect Boudoir Photography Session” by my amazing Hair and Make Up Artist, Sharon Dawson. This is Sharon’s new monthly feature and a great opportunity for you all to ask her any questions you may have whilst preparing for your own Perfect Boudoir Photography Session. So without any further ado, here’s Sharon!
It’s so important to get into a good skin routine. Identify your skin type and get advice on how to treat it to ensure you have a fantastic base for your make up to sit on. If you aren’t sure what skin type you have, you can get advice from a brand that you have previously used and love.
If you don’t already use a particular brand, then its time to go to John Lewis, Debenhams or a large Boots store and have some fun! Go to all the counters and ask for skin care advice but be careful not to be talked into spending a fortune on a product that you are not sure about.
Great branded products are Clarins, Clinique, Estee Lauder and Lancome. Some of these counters keep samples of their products and are happy to give them out for you to try. Get as many as you can, take them home and try them. When you find the ones that you love, then you can spend out on a whole bottle knowing that you will use it and go back for more.
Cleansing, toning and moisturising should be done regularly without fail. This will keep your skin glowing and youthful. A clean and dirt-free face will help you keep your pores open and this will help your skin to breathe better. Follow up with toning which will help tighten the pores, toning also reduces fine lines to some extent. Lastly, moisturising the face helps lock in moisture into the pores. This helps keep your skin soft and supple.
